3-Phase Power Solutions Buck-Boost Transformers
Buck-boost transformers are designed for two purposes. The most popular use is to lower or increase line voltage to match required load voltage. The second use is to use it as a low voltage isolation transformer for use on 12, 16, 24, 32, or 48 colt circuits. Buck-boost transformers are simple and straight forward and designed to correct low or high voltage conditions, usually in the 5% to 27% range. The most common applications are boosting 208 volt lines to 230 or 240 volts or vice-versa. One of the most common applications is for HVAC applications for air conditioning appliances. Where space is critical, an isolation transformers will not fit. Buck-boost transformers are also used because they are quieter and more efficient.
