CNC-phase converters are designed to run sensitive circuitry like computers and CNC equipment. Usually, they have power conditioning to produce lower harmonic distortion and a smooth sine wave form to ensure protection against changing power loads. A CNC-phase converter is a phase converter that meets the requirements of 3-phase CNC applications by maintaining at least a +/-5% voltage balance.

These converters are an excellent choice for any of your sensitive equipment because of the extra protection it gives you against power surges or any other power outage you may encounter. Also, it provides harmonic balance, which is so important to run your computer circuitry and CNC machinery.

With a CNC converter, you should always at least double the horsepower of the motor or equipment to guarantee trouble-free operation. If you have machines that change speeds or have instant reverse, the inrush current goes up so high that the converter will be unable to furnish the current and the induced voltage needed to handle the speed changes and the reversing of the motor. For example, if you have a 10 horsepower lathe, you will need a 20 hp CNC converter.

Also, it is not a good idea to operate any other equipment other then the  CNC equipment at the same time. The feedback from the other equipment will sometimes cause the voltage to be unstable for the CNC equipment.
